CSPA Comments on Sierra Pacific Industries Wastewater Permit

CSPA has submitted comments to the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board regarding the proposed renewal of waste discharge requirements for Sierra Pacific Industries’ sawmill and cogeneration facility in Anderson California.  A hearing in the matter is scheduled before the Regional Board on 6/7/8 April 2011.

The renewed permit is based upon flawed information, lacks a defensible reasonable potential analysis, contains non-protective effluent limits for numerous pollutants and ignores antidegradation requirements.
