CSPA upgrades its
Weekly Email Newsletter, joins Constant Contact
Subscribers can now directly manage their own accounts
February 2, 2009 -- CSPA is experiencing growing pains. From a rather
quiet but effective organization in March of 2008, CSPA has expanded its
public presence with a popular website, averaging close to 20,000 page
hits per month and a mailing list now exceeding a thousand members. The
website is scheduled for some eye popping changes in the next few
months, as soon as the webmaster can learn the new software, however,
the Email list utilizing freebie software downloaded from the web had
reached the point where it was taking three days to send out a once
weekly mailer in batches of 400 plus mailings per day. In addition, the
management of the Email addresses, all manually, was becoming time
consuming and prone to errors.
After some research, CSPA engaged
Constant Contact, a web based Email service company. The company offers
a great rate for up to 2,500 Emails per day and offers a number of other
services such as surveys and polls. In addition to the mail features,
the company offers expansive feedback including how many Emails are opened,
how many bounces, and what links contained in the Emails are followed.
An
added bonus is the fact that subscribers can enroll or unsubscribe
directly simply by entering their Email addresses in the boxes that will
be scattered throughout the CSPA website. While not required, CSPA asks
that subscribers consider entering their address and phone number as
well as their Email address. The additional information will allow for
future mailings or phone contact should the need arise.
The newsletter
is generally sent out late Thursday or early Friday. Subscribers are
advised to check to make sure that the mail is not being routed to their
spam folders, and if so, make the necessary change to their spam folder
settings.
