Sacramento, CA- Restore the Delta (RTD), opponents of Governor Jerry Brown’s rush to build Peripheral Tunnels that would drain the Delta and doom sustainable farms and salmon and other Pacific fisheries, announced today they will hold a teleconference on Wednesday, May 14, to criticize the lack of an Implementing Agreement (IA) and outline harm that would result from Sen. Feinstein’s S 2198.

“Permitting is not complete,” said Barbara Barrigan-Parrilla, executive director of RTD. “There is no financial plan or agreement. The Implementing Agreement will not be released to the public until after the public comment period on the BDCP and its EIR/S is complete. Yet, DWR is moving forward to implement the project. Sen. Feinstein’s bill uses the drought as an excuse to roll back decades of key protections. S 2198 would cause irreparable harm to the Delta.”
